I was a practising  Solicitor for  more than 30 years specialising in Family law.

I acted in many complex  high value and and highly contentious  divorce  cases and emotional and difficult Children cases.

My long experience in this important area effecting the lives of so many has reinforced for me the benefits of Mediation and other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
 
While there will always be cases which require adjudication by the Courts removing the prolonged uncertainty, acrimony and expense through Mediation will help families to plan for a post separation life with dignity having managed their own outcomes with the help of the Mediator.

I settled the majority of my cases as soon as possible and have always been a keen advocate of Mediation.

I was a founder member of the Collaborative Law movement in Northern Ireland and have acted as  Mediator in a number of cases involving  different issues.

I am also interested in Later Life Mediation.Difference of opinion within families in respect of care for older relatives ,appointment of Attorneys etc  can cause long term acrimony leading to legal proceedings over Wills  and families divided for generations to come.

Mediation at an early date with all members of the family and including when possible the  older members of the  family will help family members to communicate and understand each others perspective and prevent further deterioration of relationships.

I am now in a position to provide Mediation services promptly and effectively in separation ,divorce, Children  matters and Later Life issues.
