In 1996 an interest in mediation led to training in conflict resolution and mediation at Fordham University, New York, and with CEDR and in turn resulted in devising and delivering mediation training programmes through IPLS, Queens University, Belfast, for lawyers and others over the past 20 years. Extensive mediation experience in a wide variety of civil cases throughout Northern Ireland and in GB, Ireland and internationally.

Brian speaks locally and internationally about mediation and dispute resolution including delivering training programmes in Namibia, and to lawyers in India and Bangladesh and has written regularly about mediation for the Writ journal of the Law Society of Northern Ireland.  Contributor to the EU Mediation Law Handbook and as UK expert to the combined Bars and Law Societies of Europe contributed to Guidance for Lawyers about mediation and mediation training.
